Landscape

The terrain is largely mountainous. however, Notably, the High Atlas is the dorsal spine of the country stretching from the west to the northeast and encompasses more than 100 peaks over 3000 meters high. Moreover, the highest one is Toubkal 4167m. Transitioning to a different landscape, the Sahara desert covers a large area in morocco formed of sand dunes, stone plateaus, dry valleys and great oases.  Meanwhile, the vast fertile plains stretch along the Atlantic coast to the foot of the soaring Atlas Mountains.

Architecture

The overall architecture of the country has undergone significant influence since the arrival of Islam in the 7th Century. Consequently, Islamic features have been seamlessly blended and adapted into buildings. Notably the use of tiles, known as Zellij in the local language, primarily for  the decoration of surfaces and interior walls. Moreover, geometric designs are prominently displayed in Mosques, mausoleums, and palaces, where motifs are intricately carved into granite rocks, plaster, and wood.
