Legacy of Morocco is an exciting and interesting exploration of the deep and authentic side of Morocco. It is a tour to attend the traditional hustle and bustle of the inhabitants of the old cities and understand their way of life, as well as some of the remains of the glorious past of ancient spots of Morocco 

Day 1 Casablanca

Welcome to morocco! Upon your arrival, you will be provide with assistance and transferred to you hotel  in Casablanca. Depending on the time of your arrival, we may have the opportunity to visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque.

Day 2 Casablanca – Rabat – Mesknes – Fes

Departure from your hotel at 8:30 am. Our journey takes us to the city of Rabat, which served as the capital of modern Morocco. Upon arrival, we will have opportunity to wonder through the Kasbah of Oudaya. Afterward, we visit the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. we will then transfer to another former imperial city, Meknes, built by the Sultan Moulay Ismail “1672—1727” who dedicated all his efforts to constructing his capital in Meknes. From here we head to the ancient site of Volubilis, Once the capital of the Roman province of Mauritania Tinjitania. This site provides insight into the layout of provincial settlements. in the afternoon, we take the road Northeast en route to the culturally rich city of Fes, which holds a significant place in the country’s heritage.

Day 3  Fes

This morning we enjoy a guided tour of the medina. Its history is incredible and rich, as it has played an important role in Moroccan trade, culture, religion, politics and science. The panoramic view of the old city can be admired from the North Tower “Borj”. Our exploration continues with a tour of the souks including the Karaouin Mosque and the sanctuary of Moulay Idriss. Craftsmanship from Fes is renowned as the finest in North Africa, spanning from weaver and coppersmith to tanners. A visit to Fes would not be complete without a visit of the 14th century Attarin Medrassa. Its intricate decoration and elegant design render it one of the country’s most captivating medieval colleges.

Day 4  Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

This morning, venture into the captivating Middle Atlas landscape, reaching Ifrane and the charming village of Azrou. Stroll through the Cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques, and witness the distinct traditions of independent Berber communities.Continue to cross the scenic pass of TiZi N’Talghomt. Drive alongside the vital Ziz Valley, nurturing fertile lands, and pass through Errachidia to Erfoud, a town with historical significance in the Alaouite Dynasty.The journey unfolds as we reach the sand dunes of Merzouga. Meet camels for a trek into the enchanting dunes, culminating in a night in a traditional style surrounded by the beauty of the desert.

Day 5 Merzouga – Todgha Gorges – Dades valley

We leave the mighty Sahara behind and head for the Atlas Mountains once again. Following an ancient route between the High Atlas and the volcanic Anti-Atlas, we reach the city of Tinghir to explore its famous gorges. We have some time to walk in the famous lush palm groves that line the banks of Todgha River, where locals produce dates and olives. In the afternoon we continue to Dades valley, traveling past ancient villages, ruins of Kasbahs and some geological phenomena.

Day 6   Ait Ben Haddou via Kelaa M’goun

After breakfast, we will drive to admire the towering cliffs of Dades Gorges. Following that, we’ll continue our journey westward, entering the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, en route to Kalaa de M’goun. This area is renowned for its roses, which are harvested in May during the famous Rose Festival. Later, we arrive in the city of Ouarzazat, where an optional visit to its renowned film studio. Subsequently, we will proceed to the small fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou. This village holds UNESCO World Heritage status and offers a chance to explore its history that dates back to the 11th century. The Kasbah’s unique architecture has served as an inspirational location for numerous filmmakers, from Lawrence of Arabia to Game of Thrones.

Day 7 Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

We leave the Kasbah and wind our way up through the former route of the caravans. Our drive along Ounila valley provides splendid views over adobe brick villages and cave riddle gorges. Later we stop in Telouat to visit the famous Kasbah that had been the seat of the legendary Glaoui family, rose to power in the south during the late 19th century. The Pasha had intended that the Kasbah should be the most fabulous castle in the world, it had already been called the palace of a thousand and One Night. We continue our journey over the highest pass in North Africa Tizi N’Tichka often snow covered during winter. We continue across the high Atlas Mountains over dramatic drive to Marrakech.

Day 8 Marrakech sightseeing tour

Meet our local guide and start from your riad on foot to the elegant 12th century koutobia Mosque, the oldest of the Almoahads towers and the most prominent minaret in Marrakech. Then we continue our walk to visit the Saadien Tombs, a dynasty ruled in morocco from 1554 – 1629 named Marrakech as their capital and adorned it with marble. Our guide will stop you at the 12TH  century carved gate, Bab Agnaw. Visit  to Bahia Palace, a sumptuous Moorish palace that was once the home of a moroccan minister untill the end of the 19th century. Discover the hidden districts and the historical Fondouks, once used as inns for the caravan traders. we end our stroll at the UNESCO world heritage, Jemaa El Fna where you will discover some of the local folklore traditions such as musicians, snake charmers and dancers.

Day 9 Free journey

Today is free to continue exploring this amazing city at your leisure. You can book cooking class which can be arranged either in the morning or in the afternoon. We recommend Hammam to enjoy traditional scrubbing. A day trip to the coast is also possible upon request.

Day 10 Tour ends

Depending on the schedule of your flight, there is a possibility that you might have some extra time to explore more or to buy the last souvenir in the souks. Then transfer to the airport.
